Cruising Holidays with activities on the Caledonian Canal
The Waterway

Since 1822, the Caledonian Canal has connected the three natural lochs of the Great Glen, creating a fully navigable route straight through the Highlands, between the Atlantic Ocean and the North Sea.
This exceptional waterway allows us to cruise through the heart of the hills and mountains, where no large vessels like ours have any business being. It’s a truly special way to tour the Highlands!
Although the canal was not an immediate commercial success, a visit by Queen Victoria in the 1870s ignited the flame of tourism to the region, and today it receives over 1 million visitors every year.
The canal itself has a fascinating history and is scenic in its own right with its locks, lighthouses, and idyllic towpaths - perfect for cycling!
